Understanding cloud commitments and additional charges

Some advertised cloud configurations depend on a stated commitment or pricing arrangement. The headline compute price is only one part of the deployment. Read the conditions beside the plan and ask for a complete written quote.

Confirm the full cost

  • Commitment length, billing period, renewal terms and whether the advertised figure assumes a reservation or savings plan.
  • System and data disks, backup storage, public IPv4 addresses, transfer charges and any separately priced network services.
  • Software licences, management scope, migration work, one-time setup and applicable taxes.
  • What happens when an instance is stopped or deleted, and which independent resources or commitments remain chargeable.

Stopping a virtual machine should not be treated as confirmation that all charges have ended. Ask us to review the exact configuration before a shutdown or cancellation. Your accepted quote and service terms determine the arrangement for your service.
